PEARL CITY, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The city will be using a sealant on scores of roadways in Pearl City starting next month.
The work will kick off June 6. The city said seal coat, a pavement preservation treatment, will be applied to 43 lane miles of roads in the community.
Minor cracks will also be filled, and other restoration work completed.
The sealant treatment is aimed at extending the life of roadways.
The $2.6 million project will run through the end of the year.
Work will be conducted weekdays, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Residents and businesses will be notified when their roads are scheduled for the treatment. On-street parking will be prohibited while crews are applying the seal coat.
