It was an emotional Saturday night for Hapa in Madison, Wisconsin. HAPA member Barry Flanagan said in a video he posted on FB: "December 10th 1967 Was a sad day for me as a 12 year old in New Jersey. It was Otis Redding's last concert and this is the lake, Lake Manona that his plane went down in. Such an honor tonight to be playing right on the lake. And we are going to make sure we sing a little." Barry Flanagan's post read "He was and still remains my #1 favorite soul man. We honored him tonight. #otisredding #RESPECT #soulman"
Maunalua is on tour right now and we showed the group rockin' out in Seoul, South Korea. They have been enjoying spreading the aloha where ever they go sharing Hawaiian music.
Hawaii Recording Artist Jon Yamasato is usually taking pictures of himself and good friends Herb Ohta or other entertainers playing music; or real estate stuff which is his other job. But Jon put a warning up on his FB page; he posts "Sorry all, gonna be a lot of hula pics going on for the foreseeable future" What a good dad!!...and with good reason...so cute!
Lacy Deniz did an amazing job as she was the Keynote Speaker at two graduations over the weekend; she was home to deliver inspiring messages to Konawaena Graduates Saturday morning and Kealakehe Graduates Saturday night. She described how she honored and privileged she felt to be able to address her hometown graduates during the weekend!
It's another manic Monday; but here's something to make you feel a little more at peace. Dan Cooke posted this video to his facebook page. He called it "heaven." He's just rocking out with his brand new little baby, Bodhi.
