HILO, BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - By Chantelle Aguilar
A 15-year-old boy was arrested Friday for allegedly leaving threatening notes at Waiakea High.
Hawaii Island police arrested the boy about 9 a.m. at the school in connection with leaving the threatening notes.
Police said multiple notes threatening violence were left on bathroom walls sometime between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. Thursday.
The teen is being held at the South Hilo police station while detectives continue their investigation.
This is the latest in a string of incidents involving threatening notes left at high schools. In March, a threatening note found in a Campbell High restroom forced the lockdown of the school and other area campuses.
