HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Nearly two dozen tires on vehicles parked along Date Street were slashed late Thursday or early Friday, in the third such incident in recent weeks.
Officers have opened a second-degree felony criminal property damage case that takes into account the multiple cases and thousands of dollars in damage caused to vehicles.
During the week of May 9, vehicle owners in two separate locations in Liliha were also targeted. Seven vehicles had both passenger side tires slashed while parked on both sides of the North Kuakini Street near Nuuanu Avenue.
The night before, another seven were damaged while parked along Nuuanu Avenue in front of Queen Emma Gardens.
It's unknown whether the cases are connected.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call police.
