PALOLO, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man was hit with a hefty fine from the City after dozens of bikes piled several feet high were found on a Palolo sidewalk.
The bikes belong to Larry Gomes, who says he started collecting bikes in the late 80s and wound up with hundreds of them.
Gomes ended up donating a few bikes, and put the rest out on the curb for bulk trash pick-up. He says if someone needs a part, they are more than welcome to come by and grab it.
"Some of the stuff is still salvageable," Gomes said. "I don't mind them going through the pile I just want them to stack it up nice and neat."
Gomes says he also has some bird cages he's looking to get rid of.
If you need any parts for your bike, stop by his house on Kalua Place across from Jarrett Middle School before bulk pick-up which is scheduled to come through on Friday.
