Good Monday morning.  Are you ready for the trade winds?  Trade winds are kicking off the new work week.

The winds will pick up in speed today into Wednesday.  The winds will likely range between 10 to 25 mph.

A Small Craft Advisory is posted for Maui County and Hawaii Island, which is a good indication that the winds are up over our coastal waters.

There is an area of high pressure anchored to our north that will keep the trade winds moderate and persistent through midweek.  Our afternoon temperatures will be at or slightly above average with many neighborhoods climbing to the mid-80s.

As far as surf, we are tracking a series of south swells for your Monday and Tuesday.  A larger swell will take on town side on Wednesday.  We are also expecting for a bump on east facing shores due to the trade winds strengthening.

Surf Outlook:

North Shore: 3 to 5 feet

West Shore:  1 to 3 feet

East Shore:  2 to 4 feet

South Shore: 2 to 4 feet

By the end of the workweek, the winds will slow down as a front passes to our north and weakens the area of high pressure that is bringing the trade wind weather our way.  On Friday, it may feel slightly muggy.

The trade winds are set to strengthen by the weekend directing typical trade wind showers our way. Have a beautiful week in Hawaii Nei.
