HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - After a rare Saturday off in order to attend graduation festivities, the Rainbow Warrior baseball team got back to business with a Sunday sweep of the afternoon's doubleheader.
The 'Bows scored early in the first game thanks to the bat of Eric Ramirez in the first inning, as Matt LoCoco found his way home to make it a 1-0 game.
Casey Worden equalized for the Highlanders in the second inning, singling to left field to score Aaron Cisneros.
The score remained 1-1 until the bottom of the seventh inning, when Chayce Ka'aua, who went 1-3 from the plate, batted in the go-ahead run.
Alex Hatch earned the win after being relieved in the sixth inning. He gave up six hits but allowed only one earned run on the afternoon.
The late game started just after 3 p.m. and effectively ended in the sixth inning, when Marcus Doi, Kekai Rios and Ethan Lopez all batted in runs to help Hawaii top the Highlanders 5-4.
