Trade winds are returning and could get locally breezy by Tuesday. Clouds and showers will favor windward and mauka areas, mainly at night and in the morning, with some light showers possible leeward.
For the rest of the week, a cold front will approach the state from the west around the middle of the week. It shouldn't reach us, but could slow the trades down. At the same time, a developing upper disturbance will increase showers, mainly for windward and mauka areas.
At the beach, a small northwest swell continues to slowly decline, while on the south shores, we'll have a series of small short-period swells, with a slightly larger swell Wednesday. The increasing trade winds will bring choppy waves to east facing shores.
