Man arrested following Waikiki bank robbery

WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A 38-year-old man was arrested Friday night for demanding money from the First Hawaiian Bank on Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki.

Paul Knapp, originally from Washington, was arrested for first degree robbery.

Police reports say upon entering the bank Knapp demanded money, made a verbal threat and left.

Police say Knapp didn't get away with any money and was arrested at the scene.

Knapp is currently in police custody and has not been charged.
