WAILEA, Maui (HawaiiNewsNow) - Colorado Rockies shortstop Jose Reyes has been suspended until May 31 by MLB for violating the league's domestic violence policy after an incident on Maui.
Reyes was arrested Oct. 31, 2015 at the Wailea Four Seasons Resort for abuse of a family or household member.
According to sources, his wife, Katherine Ramirez, told responding officers that Reyes grabbed her off the bed and shoved her into the sliding glass balcony door. She was taken to the Maui Memorial Medical Center with injuries to her thigh, neck and wrist.
In total, Reyes will miss 51 games with the suspension.
