Firefighters respond to two-alarm fire at Waimanalo Laundromat

WAIMANALO, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

HFD responded to a two-alarm building fire at the Waimanalo Laundromat just after 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Eight fire companies responded to the incident with a total of 30 personnel. The first unit arrived at 6:13 p.m. and located the source of the fire.

Personnel determined that the fire was located behind a propane supplied dryer and was contained by an activated fire sprinkler head.

All second-alarm fire companies en route were called off.

All occupants of the building were notified of the fire by the alarm and were able to evacuate safely.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and the fire damage is estimated at $5,000 for the structure and its contents. No injuries have been reported.
