The 'Bows topped the Dirtbags 6-3 at Les Murakami Stadium on Saturday night, ending a 5-game losing streak and giving Hawaii promise headed into the final two games of their series with The Beach.
Von Ruden game up 3 runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, dropping his season ERA to 3.11 en route to his sixth win of the season. Chris Mathewson took the loss for LBSU, allowing all 6 of Hawaii's runs.
Hawaii and Long Beach State will play again on Saturday evening before wrapping up the series on Sunday afternoon.
