SandBows arrive early for inaugural NCAA Tournament

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Rather than travel back to Hawaii after winning the inaugural Big West Beach Volleyball Championship, the SandBows decided they'd be better served heading straight to the site of the national tournament.

Having already made an East Coast trip once this season, the Wahine knew first hand just how problematic it could be to perform after such a long trip.

"We wanted to make sure we got out today, we're the first ones here at Gulf Shores, by plan, by design, so that we can get acclimated as much as possible," said Rainbow Wahine head coach Jeff Hall. "We wanted to make sure that our body clocks were right."

The 5th-ranked Rainbow Wahine will open tournament play against #4 UCLA tomorrow morning. Matches are set to begin at 5 a.m., and delayed telecasts will be shown on TruTV starting at 9 a.m.
