AIEA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - By Devon Tsai
Football season won't be the only event being kicked off at Aloha Stadium this Fall.
From mid-August through December, a new recycling program will be launched in efforts to help non-profit organizations raise funds. Bottles, cans and plastics will be collected throughout the interior and all parking lot locations.
"On average we collect anywhere from 35-55 large bags per weekend during the football season. In the past we have worked with the Hawaii Girls Scouts and they have raised hundreds of dollars. This a great way to give back but also make sure we play our role in the effort to minimize our ecological footprint" stated Deputy Manager, Ryan Andrews.
The stadium currently offers weekly car washes for fundraising opportunities year round.
