A new commander took over as the leader of Army soldiers in the Pacific in a change-of-command ceremony Wednesday.
Following the presentation of the colors and the firing of the cannons, Gen. Vincent K. Brooks formally relinquished his command of U.S. Army Pacific to incoming commanding general Lt. Gen. Robert B. Brown.
Before transferring to Hawaii, Brown was serving as the U.S. Army commanding general at Fort Leavenworth. He lead different Army units from Bosnia-Herzegovina to Haiti.
Brooks held numerous roles in the Army, but his work does not end here. His promotion takes him to the Asia-Pacific region, where he will lead U.S. Forces Korea.
