HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An approaching front will push away the tradewinds from Thursday through Friday. Look for increasing amounts of haze and humidity. Morning sunshine will be followed by afternoon showers, some heavy for interior spots.
Breezy tradewinds with windward and mauka showers are due back for the weekend.
A small, long-period west-northwest swell will continue to fill in across the state today. A reinforcing north-northwest swell arrives Saturday. Small south swells will maintain background surf along south facing shores through Thursday. A long period south swell arriving Friday will likely peak late Saturday above the seasonal south swell average, but just below the high surf advisory criteria. Breezy trade winds will produce choppy surf today, then taper off through the end of the week.
Small Craft Advisory until 6 PM for Maalaea Bay, Pailolo channel, Alenuihaha channel, Big Island leeward waters, Big Island southeast waters.
