HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Cheech and Chong, who sparked the stoner movement in movies, appeared on Sunrise today. The classic comedy duo are hosting a series of performances in Hawaii.
Tommy Chong and Richard "Cheech" Marin met in 1968 before launching a series of comedy albums that got them Grammy recognition. They were nominated for 4 and won a Grammy for best comedy album for "Los Cochinos". The two then starred in "Up in Smoke" embracing the cannabis culture without apology. They earned more than $100 million at the box office for the hit counter-culture film.
