HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - If ever Ted Cruz should have had a chance of beating Donald Trump, Indiana was it. The new right, the religious right, which Cruz considered his base, is strong in Indiana. Yet Trump won 53% of the Republican vote. Cruz won only in the Fort Wayne area.
On the Democratic side, 53% was also the margin of upset victory for Bernie Sanders. Hillary Clinton carried Indianapolis and counties along the Ohio River, but Sanders won the rest.
Political analysts, who have been wrong before, especially in this campaign, don't think Sanders can overtake Clinton, making it a Trump-Clinton matchup. And they say that will be a whole new thing because never before have there been two candidates with such strong negative ratings in key voter groups.
