HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell will file for re-election for a second term on Wednesday afternoon, according to a campaign spokeswoman.
Glenna Wong, who handles his campaign communications, said Caldwell will file his paperwork at 2:30 p.m. and will give a statement on the steps of Honolulu Hale shortly thereafter.
Caldwell recently opened his campaign headquarters in preparation for his run.
City Council Chairman Ernie Martin has also been considering a run to challenge Caldwell, but he hasn't made an official announcement.
