HALEIWA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police arrested a 36-year-old man on Saturday for allegedly assaulting an Emergency Medical Services worker while being transported.
Officials said Duane Rutherford, of Honolulu, allegedly punched the worker twice in the chest around 8:30 p.m.
Police arrested Rutherford for second-degree assault in Haleiwa. It's not clear why he was being transported.
The 35-year-old EMS worker was treated at a hospital.
