Bishop Museum's president and CEO has resigned, and an interim president has been appointed.

In a news release, the museum said Blair Collis' last day is May 6.

He's headed up the Bishop Museum since June 2011, and first joined the institution as director of Bishop Museum Press in 2003.

Collis said he's leaving to pursue "new opportunities," but didn't say where he'll be headed.

The museum's board of directors has appointed LindaLee Kuuleilani Farm to serve as interim president and CEO.

The board plans to conduct a nationwide search for Collis' replacement.
