NANAKULI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The school bus that Kaulana Werner used to ride made a stop in his neighborhood Thursday morning.
The students on the bus were allowed to get off and pay their respects to Werner's family.
"I think it just helps them to be able to stop and give their condolences and see auntie and uncle--Kaulana's parents, and see the strength that they have," said Kehau Kaalouahi, Werner's godmother.
Kamehameha school arranged the stop for the bus. HPD and several school parents also helped coordinate.
Werner was struck and killed in Nanakuli on Sunday night, just feet away from his home. He was 19-years-old.
A woman was arrested in the case but has since been released.
