Aqua-Aston Hospitality says renovations are done at the Aqua Ohia Waikiki, a 17-story, 251-room hotel – at 2280 Kuhio, across from the International Marketplace.  The Ohia is a small property with small rooms but budget rates, and reviews improved after some work was done last summer.

The feds reach a settlement with Honolulu Wood Treating of Kapolei. The Environmental Protection Agency says the company will pay $34,000 for making and selling a mislabeled termite control chemical. The labels have since been corrected.

The state Department of Commerce wants to put professional license applications online. The newest implementation is for guards. The system is called MyPVL, which stands for professional and vocational licensing. It's online at PVL.ehawaii.gov/MyPVL.

The Moana Surfrider has a new hotel manager. Tom Kermabon comes from the Omni Tucson. Before that he worked at Starwood properties in Japan and China.

The Hawaii Bankers Association launches its 9th annual drive for the Hawaii Foodbank. Hundreds of bank branches will be accepting donations through the end of May.

Dates set for this year's 37th annual Pan-Pacific Festival. It will be held June 10 through 12 at locations all over Honolulu, multiple stages, a hoolaulea featuring music, food and crafts.
