High pressure to the north will maintain trade winds through the weekend. The trades will be moderate to fresh today and Thursday, becoming slightly weaker Friday and into the weekend.
Clouds and showers will favor windward and mauka neighborhoods with a few showers spilling over to leeward areas.
High in Honolulu today will be 84 degrees.
The latest northwest swell has reached the islands. Waimea bay buoy on Oahu is reporting a 2.3-foot swell at 10 seconds period. This swell has started its decline at buoy 51101 farther upstream.
This current swell will be supported by a new north-northwest swell of equal size tonight. Another northwest swell with a slightly longer period but similar size is due in late Friday.
The short period trade wind swell will increase slightly Thursday due to the stronger trades.
