HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Traffic was backed up in Downtown Honolulu Tuesday afternoon as Honolulu firefighters responded to a fire at the Judd Building in Fort Street Mall.
The first unit arrived on scene at 4:34 p.m. to find occupants evacuating the building as smoke was coming from the basement level.
A second alarm was struck and a total of nine fire companies with 35 personnel responded to the incident.
By 5 p.m., firefighters discovered an extinguished electrical fire and continued with ventilation and overhaul operations to clear the building of smoke and make sure the fire was fully extinguished.
The cause of the fire and damage estimate has not yet been determined. No injuries have been reported.
