HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Apparently, volunteering as an assistant defensive line coach at the University of Hawaii is not the extent of Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett's desire to give back.

Bennett, a frequent sight on the sidelines of the Rainbow Warriors' spring practices, hosted the third annual OCEAN Health Festival in Kapolei today, an event designed to inform parents and their children about the benefits of staying active.

Despite the event being relatively new, Bennett says he's pleased with how quickly it has grown.

"Third year has been the best year," said Bennett. "They say everything good comes in the threes."

The event features demonstrations of athletic drills that are simple enough for the whole family to do.

"The most important thing is about family," said Bennett. "It all starts with the parents, if the parents are exercising, forcing the kids to do stuff, then they'll do it. So when the parents are having fun the kids, will love it. It's about getting the whole family involved."
