Forecast: Partly cloudy with trade wind showers for Sunday

Clouds and showers will ride in on locally breezy trade winds for Sunday. Most of the showers are expected during the morning hours, but windward and mauka areas may be a bit gray and damp through the day, with partly cloudy skies leeward.

Surf is headed downward, with 3-5 foot waves for north and east shores, 2-4 footers out west and 1-3 for south shores. A small short-period northwest swell is expected to rise Tuesday and linger through Wednesday. A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for channel waters around Maui County and the leeward and southern waters off the Big Island.
