HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - University of Hawaii sophomore forward Megan Huff, the two-time defending Big West Conference Sixth Player of the Year, has asked for and been granted a release from the Rainbow Wahine basketball program, head coach Laura Beeman said Wednesday.
Huff, who earned second-team all conference honors in 2016 after she helped guide the Rainbow Wahine to the NCAA tournament, intends to transfer to another school but has not yet decided on a destination, Beeman said.
Huff was the team's second leading scorer this season, averaging 9.7 points and 6.5 rebounds in just over 21 minutes per game.
The reason behind Huff's decision to transfer was not immediately made known. Huff first posted about her decision to transfer on Tuesday evening to several social media profiles.
We'll have more information on this developing story as soon as it becomes available.
