MILILANI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A fire Monday afternoon caused more than $80,000 in damage to a townhome in Mililani, the Honolulu Fire Department said.
Approximately 30 firefighters responded at around 12:15 p.m. to the two-alarm fire located at 95-315 Kahikinui Court, where they found smoke coming out of the two-story, four-unit townhome.
The fire was fully extinguished by 3 p.m.
An investigation determined that the blaze was caused unintentionally by a plumber using a blowtorch. The plumber and one resident were in the structure at the time, but were able to evacuate uninjured, according to a fire official.
The fire displaced three people from two of the units. They will stay with friends and family, HFD said.
