KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii (AP) - A dog rescue organization is suing the Hawaii Island Humane Society.
West Hawaii Today reports (http://bit.ly/1qztBBy) Big Island Dog Rescue's lawsuit seeks damages and says emails to and from Humane Society staff show plans to derail the group's efforts.
The society's attorney says the emails are fabricated. The society plans to countersue the dog rescue and file a disciplinary complaint regarding the opposing attorneys.
Tasi Autele founded the dog rescue and says a whistleblower leaked the emails to his attorneys.
The lawsuit filed Friday says that toward the middle of last year the two groups started having trouble collaborating to send adoptable animals to the mainland.
