HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaiian music legend, Cyril Pahinui continues to recover after he underwent life-saving surgery in March.
Pahinui underwent five high-risk surgeries to repair chemical damage in his lungs.
"So what I do is kanakapila and just play music," said Pahinui. "When I did for my dad, they did the same thing for me."
Doctors say Pahinui has been working hard to recover after dealing with a collapsed lung. They hope he'll be released from the Queen's Medical Center by next week.
Meanwhile, Pahinui plans to be at his father's benefit concert on April 23 in Waimanalo.
