Honolulu police said they arrested an adult male suspected of driving under the influence after he slammed a pickup truck into a utility pole along Kapiolani Boulevard and University Avenue around 12:30 Tuesday morning.

Repairs to the damaged utility pole and sagging lines are underway.

Hawaiian Electric Company spokesman, Darren Pai, said that the incident did not cause an outage and their crews have wrapped up their work. Oceanic Time Warner Cable crews are now working on the lines.

As a result of the repairs, police have shut down three east bound center lanes however you can still turn left and right from Kapiolani Blvd. onto University Avenue.
