Kamehameha's Alo stopped in semis at U.S. Olympic trials

The Road to Rio has come to a disappointing end to for four-time state wrestling champion Teshya Alo.

Alo, a senior at Kamehameha Schools, was upended today by Arizona State wrestler Kelsey Campbell during the semifinals of the U.S. Olympic Trials in Iowa City, Iowa. She won her first two matches of the day, against Megan Black and Jenna Burket, before the Campbell defeat.

Campbell went on to win the 58kg division by topping Alli Ragan in the final.

Wrestling in the consolation bracket, Alo lost an opportunity for a third-place finish against Randi Beltz.

Wrestling blog Takedown Wrestling reported that Alo was the second youngest competitor in today's competition.
