HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The gusty tradewinds will be slowing through Friday, picking up again over the weekend. Rainfall will favor windward areas with increasing clouds and showers Friday, drying up over the weekend.
While strong, the winds will produce rough surf just below advisory levels along east facing shores. The NWS surf forecast calls for 5-8 feet north, 5-7 feet east, 2-4 feet west, 1-3 feet south. A new northwest swell arriving Saturday may bring surf approaching high surf advisory criteria along north and west facing shores on Sunday. A series of small south and southeast swells will continue through early next week.
Small Craft Advisory until 6 AM Friday for most coastal waters.
