On The Radar: Diving with dolphins

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

April 14 is National Dolphin Day, but it is ‘Dolphin Day’ every day off of the Waianae Coast.  For this edition of On the Radar, Jennifer Robbins learns more about these intelligent sea creatures and goes on an underwater adventure off of the west side.  One of the most interesting facts that many people don’t know about, when dolphins are resting they are actually half asleep so they can swim while catching some Zzzzzs.  There are three common types of dolphins that live off of the islands: spinner dolphins, bottlenose dolphins and spotted dolphins.
