The Hawaii Tourism Authority has its spring marketing presentations starting this morning at the Hawaii Convention Center. The briefings start at 8:20 and run past noon.

L&L Hawaiian Barbeque is celebrating its 40th anniversary this week. More than 200 franchisees from across the nation and around the world are in Hawaii for the big event. They had a reception last night at Hilton Hawaiian Village and there’s a birthday party today at Hale Koa. More tomorrow.

New food and beverage team at the Kani Ka Pila Grille – Mike Viscovich came from Dave & Buster’s and Bubba Gump – Christine Hoek comes from the Outrigger Guam Beach – Elise Hernandez comes from the Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas – Ryan Kotani comes from the Kahala Hotel and Morimoto.

Hawaii Public Radio starts its spring pledge drive this morning around 6:20 a.m. Advance giving has already covered almost a third of the goal.

The Hawaii robotics teams just got some major support - $45,000 from McDonald’s Hawaii – all 26 competing Hawaii robotics teams will share the love.

Iolani Palace has installed 3D scanning technology for virtual tours. It’s the first museum in Hawaii to do it. The vendor is a Canadian company called LNG3D. You can see it for yourself on IolaniPalace.org.
