Hazy and somewhat muggy weather is in the forecast for Monday ahead of a cold front that could bring some heavier showers Tuesday.
The front itself is forecast to arrive at Kauai early Tuesday morning and then move through Oahu and Maui County during the day before stalling out over the Big Island. Light winds with afternoon sea breezes will become breezy northeasterlies as the front passes. The strong trade winds will push remnant moisture back over the island chain for the remainder of the work week.
Not much surf expected Monday, with 2-4 footers for north shores and waist-high sets at best elsewhere. There's a series of small northwest swells this week, but surf will remain well below advisory levels.
