HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Travis 'Hapa' Browne, the Waianae-native mixed martial artist with an 18-3-1 record in the UFC, has been booked to fight at the summer's biggest UFC event.
The UFC announced on Wednesday that Browne was scheduled to fight former heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez on the undercard of UFC 200 on July 9 in Las Vegas. The event will be headlined by a 170-pound rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz and also feature an interim title fight between Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo.
A UFC spokesperson told ESPN on Wednesday that the winner of the Edgar/Aldo bout would next fight McGregor, at 145 pounds, for the title, regardless of the result of the Irishman's fight with Diaz.
Welterweight Johny Hendricks is set to fight Kevin Gastelum in another of the undercard match-ups.
