Forecast: Trades will move in Friday, but won't last long

Lighter winds are taking over, and are expected to hold tomorrow.

Steady tradewinds will move in Friday and linger through the weekend with the best weather on the planet. But another round of light winds is expected Monday.

The big swell will be slowly dropping, although the life-threatening conditions will continue Thursday.

A High Surf Warning is in effect until 6 a.m. Thursday for north- and west-facing shores of Kauai, Niihau, Oahu, and Molokai, and north-facing shores of Maui.

A High Surf Advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Thursday for Kona.

Also, a Wind Advisory is effect until 6 a.m. Thursday for Big Island summits, while a Small Craft Advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Thursday for most Hawaii waters.
