HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Two early runs for the Broncos of Santa Clara were not enough to overcome an untimely outfield error, as the Rainbow Warriors rallied to win Saturday night's baseball game, 3-2, at Les Murakami Stadium.
After scoring runs in both the second and third innings, Santa Clara held a 2-0 lead headed into the bottom of the sixth, when Johnny Weeks scored Matt LoCoco on a sacrifice fly to put Hawaii on the board. LoCoco was 2-4 from the plate on the evening.
The one-run margin held until the bottom of the ninth inning, when Alan Baldwin singled to right center to score Marcus Doi. A fielding error provided an opportunity for Kekai Rios to make his way home as well, ending the game.
Hawaii improved to 11-13 on the season. They'll play one final game against Santa Clara tomorrow afternoon at Les Murakami Stadium.
