Rainbow Warriors pitcher Kyle Von Ruden tossed 1 run gem over 9 innings of work, and Hawaii topped Santa Clara, 8-1, on Friday night to even the season series at 1-1.
Von Ruden, who struck out five and was hit just three times, improved to 3-1 on the season with a 108-pitch outing.
Jacob Sheldon-Collins and Eric Ramirez, who were both 3-4 from the plate, scored two Hawaii runs apiece.
Centerfielder Matt LoCoco scored two more runs for the Rainbow Warriors, who now stand at 10-13 on the year.
Hawaii and Santa Clara will play again Saturday night before finishing the series on Sunday.
