HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Rainbow Warriors senior outside hitter Siki Zarcovic hammered home 25 of Hawaii's 58 kills on Friday night, and U.H. topped U.C. Irvine in five sets at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The win (25-17, 23-25, 25-23, 21-25, 15-9) is #8 Hawaii's first win at the Stan Sheriff Center since February 5, when they topped UCLA in four sets.
With the MPSF postseason nearing, Coach Charlie Wade told OC16's Scott Robbs that the team was in need of the win.
"We're still going it, just very much with the process, one game at a time," said Wade after the match. "There's no question as they get down to the end here, they all count, so that was a nice win tonight for sure."
Hawaii plays U.C. Irvine once more on Saturday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.
