Flash Flood Watch expires as more stable weather conditions return

Flash Flood Watch posted for Maui County, Big Island as storm moves eastward

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Flash Flood Watch that had been posted for Oahu, Maui County and the Big Island was allowed to expire as more stable weather conditions moved over the state.

The National Weather Service said that an upper trough that brought heavy showers and thunderstorms to the islands Friday and Friday night had moved east of the Big Island and was forecast to continue moving farther away overnight, so drier weather is expected for Easter Sunday morning.

Winds are expected to remain light Sunday, and afternoon sea breezes may form some clouds and pop up showers for interior sections of the islands.
