WAHIAWA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A woman was seriously injured Thursday when her vehicle went through a guardrail and plunged 100 feet into a Wahiawa ravine.

It happened just before noon across from Wahiawa District Park, when the woman was driving her Land Rover and apparently lost control.

The 21-year-old driver was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center.

A good Samaritan was nearby when the vehicle plunged into the ravine.

"I heard a crash, a big crash, and I thought it was a tree fall," he said. "When I came out on the highway and she was across the road hollering for help. I told her to be calm and 911 was coming."
