LANIKAI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The city is once again temporarily banning parking on all public roads and shoulders in Lanikai.
This time, the ban runs from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon, in anticipation of big crowds looking to celebrate Easter weekend at the beach.
The parking bans are part of a pilot project aimed at addressing severe congestion in Lanikai during weekends and holidays.
Under the temporarily rules, parking will be banned on all public roads and shoulders from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through the weekend.
Police will enforce the ban.
Those wanting to access Lanikai beaches can walk, bike, take the city bus or get dropped off.
The city said it decided to renew the ban after seeing positive results over the President's Day weekend, when the "special enforcement district" was first put in place.
