WAILUKU, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders' wife, Jane, stirred a huge crowd at a public meeting on Oahu Sunday night and is continuing her Hawaii tour with a trip to Maui.
Jane Sanders had a lunch meeting at Town restaurant with community leaders and activists followed by a tour of the Alexander and Baldwin sugar museum.
Sanders said she's here to listen to messages from the community as much as spread Bernie's, which is a populist one.
"What we're finding is no matter what state we go to, the concerns are the same. What we're finding is a disappearing middle classic, cost of higher education and concern about the climate," Sanders said.
Her day will end with a public meet and greet at the Mill House on Honoapiilani Highway in Wailuku. Those who would like to attend should RSVP.
The Democratic caucus in Hawaii is set for March 26.
