The islands will be affected by unstable weather conditions and a deep pool of moisture for much of this week, bringing what could be a prolonged period of showers, vog and humidity. Changes will begin Monday as winds veer to the south-southeast and then become light ahead of an approaching cold front, while clouds and the chance of showers increase.
By Tuesday, a mid-level trough will also give us a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon, with another trough developing late Thursday. Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy, hazy and muggy conditions with spotty showers, some of them locally heavy, all the way through Friday.
A High Surf Advisory has been extended until noon Monday for most north and west-facing shores. A Small Craft Advisory for all coastal and channel waters is posted until 6 a.m. Monday.
