LANAI (HAWAIINEWSNOW) - A cold front is bringing some strong winds to the state, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a Wind Advisory for some of the islands.
The advisory is in effect for Lanai, Kahoolawe and parts of the Big Island until 6 p.m. Thursday.
Forecasters say north to northeast winds will be 20 to 30 mph with higher gusts. The strongest winds will occur near terrain.
A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds must reach 30 mph or with gusts of at least 50 mph.
