NUUANU, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - [Update 3/19 at 6 a.m.]
All lanes of the Pali Highway have been reopened after Board of Water Supply crews completed repairs to the water main break. Water was restored to all affected customers by 11 p.m. Thursday, BWS said.
A paving contractor will return to the site on Friday evening -- following the afternoon commute -- to smooth out the roadway.
A water main break has shut down two Kailua-bound lanes of the Pali Highway early Thursday, authorities said.
The right and center lanes of the highway near Waokanaka Street are closed as Board of Water Supply crews make repairs to the 6-inch water main.
BWS said approximately 50 homes along Waokanaka Street, Waokanaka Place and Meleana Place may be without water service or may be experiencing reduced water pressure.
Crews will be working throughout the day. Updates will be posted as they become available.
