HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A cold front is moving west to east across the island chain today.

Showers associated with the front are dampening neighborhoods along the way. In its wake we will feel cool, breezy, northerly winds. Those winds are expected to be strong in some areas, particularly in down slope areas and around tall buildings.

The forecast calls for 15-25 mph with gusts to 45 mph. Skies will dry out and clear behind the front. Oahu should expect partly to mostly sunny conditions after lunchtime with a cool high of 78 degrees.

Surf is moderate all around with a new north building overnight. The National Weather Service forecast calls for 3-5 feet north, 1-3 feet west, 2-4 feet east, 2-5 feet south.

Wind Advisory for Lanai.

Small Craft Advisory for most waters.
